Melodi Masaniai has been training and organizing Democrats and progressives in Santa Clara County since 2007. Since co-founding the grassroots group known as Congressional District 14 for Obama, she worked tirelessly and sleeplessly in the 2008 election. In 2009, Melodi dedicated herself to integrating with Democrats in her community and sought to make a meaningful contribution by walking precincts in Sunnyvale for Mayor Anthony (Tony) Spitaleri, Vice Mayor Chris Moylan, and our new city councilmember Jim Griffith.
She also brought the renewed Obama campaign to the county, Organizing for America, and has led trainings for leaders and organizers in Santa Clara County, as well as Monterey and San Francisco. Melodi found so much deep personal satisfaction in this work that she decided to run for Santa Clara County Central Committee. Melodi will to continue to blend her Democratic friends with her Obama friends. As a Member of the Central Committee, she would be integrating everyday Democrats into the establishment to form a new Democratic Family.
